GTA 6 in September: The Album, a Collector's Box and a Cover
Rockstar published two Grand Theft Auto VI announcements in September, both on its Newswire, and neither was a trailer. Here is everything that is confirmed, what came from elsewhere, and what still has not happened, 50 days before launch.
Confirmed: Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album
On September 17 Rockstar announced the official soundtrack album, made with Atlantic Records and released on November 19, the same day as the game. It has 34 original tracks, and six singles went out immediately:
- Yung Lean, That’s It (feat. Future and Metro Boomin)
- Travis Scott, RHYNO (produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo)
- CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and Etienne de Crécy, Sexy Magic
- Morgan Wallen, Last Thing You Need
- Rauw Alejandro, Macacoa 2000
- Keith Richards, Bright Lights, Big City
The album can be pre-saved on streaming services. Vinyl and CD follow at launch, with three exclusives sold only on the album’s own site: a liquid-filled vinyl, a splatter vinyl and a CD jewel case. Retailers get their own vinyl colourways.

The last line of the announcement matters more than the tracklist. Rockstar promises more on “the dynamic score, the next evolution of in-game radio, and more”. The radio stations are the one part of the game’s music nobody has seen yet.
Confirmed: The Goodtime State, Vice City Collection
On September 24 Rockstar opened pre-orders for a limited collector’s box, delivered November 19 and sold while supplies last. The game is not included. The box is built around Macca the Gator, which Rockstar describes as a hit TV show in Leonida, and contains:
- a 6 inch Macca the Gator figure with a stash compartment
- matte black GTAVI Oakley Frogskins with Prizm Sapphire lenses
- a New Era 9FORTY snapback with Vice City and Leonida details
- a Macca the Gator magnetic mirror, a Vice City swizzle spoon and a razor blade keychain
- a Leonida Keys crossbody bag and a Leonida Keys enamel pin set in a metal tin
- a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass
- stickers in a stash bag
- a double sided poster of the full Leonida landscape

That poster is the detail to watch. A print of “the full Leonida landscape” is the closest thing to an official map Rockstar has put on sale. Press reports put the box at 400 dollars; Rockstar’s announcement does not state a price. Pre-orders for Asia, Latin America and Australia will follow.
Reported: the Game Informer cover
Game Informer announced on September 25 that Grand Theft Auto VI is the cover of its issue out September 29: a 14 page story with interviews with Rockstar and a dozen new screenshots. According to the magazine, it covers the weather system, wildlife and the research Rockstar did on Miami and Florida. The cover art shows Jason and Lucia in a bullet riddled red car against the Vice City skyline.
This is a magazine exclusive, not a Rockstar publication. Several sites called the cover art a “new official teaser”. It is not a video. It is a piece of artwork made for the cover.
What has not happened
There is still no Trailer 3. Rockstar’s last video is An Extended Look from August 28, and nothing has been added to its YouTube channel since. The release date has not moved: November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Pre-loading starts November 12.
On the GTA Online side, September brought the Business Rivalries event and the Pegassi Horus supercar, released to GTA+ members a week early on September 10.
Everything in the first two sections comes from Rockstar’s Newswire, dated and linkable. The rest is labelled as reported, as always. Our method page explains the line.
