Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer: October 15, 2026

October 15, 2026

Rockstar Games released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on October 15, 2026, at 9 a.m. Eastern, five weeks before the game’s November 19 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar’s own video page lists it at 1:29, which makes it the shortest of the four main videos on the official site, after Trailer 1 (1:31), Trailer 2 (2:47) and An Extended Look (26:48).

The biggest change is the music. Trailer 1 used Tom Petty and Trailer 2 used The Pointer Sisters, both licensed songs. The launch trailer instead debuts Flower in a Hurricane, a new standalone single by the French electronic duo Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar’s Newswire post presents Justice as the composers of the game’s original score, and says the single also appears on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the 34-track soundtrack out November 19. The same post promises more on the game’s music, including an official score album.

As with the Extended Look, Rockstar states that the trailer was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5, and the video carries PlayStation branding and the ESRB Mature 17+ rating. The description reuses the story synopsis from Trailer 2: Jason and Lucia, a score that goes wrong, and a criminal conspiracy that spreads across the state of Leonida.

The footage itself leans on character more than spectacle. Press breakdowns from GameSpot, Kotaku and Dexerto picked out an intimate shower scene between Jason and Lucia in which Lucia wears an ankle monitor, a night-time swamp sequence with Jason in night-vision goggles that points to his Army past, a helicopter carrying a section of a bank vault through the city, crowded Vice City beaches and a road sign for The Keys. Those are observations from the footage, not features Rockstar has described in writing.

On the technical side, Digital Foundry’s analysis on October 16 measured the same 1440p internal resolution, upscaled to 4K, as the Extended Look, and found no sign of the camera and animation judder it had flagged in earlier footage. Rockstar has still not published resolution or frame rate targets.

Rockstar uploaded the trailer twice on YouTube on October 15. The main upload, embedded here, had passed 57 million views by October 21.
