GTA 5 Radio Stations: Every Station, Host and Genre
GTA 5 launched in 2013 with 15 music stations and 2 talk stations, and Rockstar has added to the dial ever since. Story mode now has 19 music stations plus the two talk stations, and PC players get Self Radio for their own files. GTA Online goes further, with four exclusive stations and a Media Player. Below is every station with its host and genre, checked against the GTA Wiki station lists.
The original stations (2013)
These have been in the game since launch on PS3 and Xbox 360. The PS4, Xbox One and PC versions added 162 songs across most of them.

The later additions create a small time paradox: story mode is set in 2013, yet these stations play songs released years afterwards.

The same Cayo Perico update gave FlyLo FM and WorldWide FM new mixes of songs from 2013 to 2020. The Contract also expanded Radio Los Santos and ran a Dr. Dre themed “Dre Day” playlist on West Coast Classics, later folded into the station.
The Media Player
Added with Los Santos Tuners on July 20, 2021, the Media Player sits on the radio wheel in GTA Online and fills up as you find collectible media sticks around Los Santos. The first batch held four CircoLoco Records EPs, a mix by Seth Troxler and a personal mix by Moodymann. Later updates added more, including a Dr. Dre playlist from The Contract and a DâM-FunK playlist from The Chop Shop.
Self Radio: your own music on PC
Self Radio is the PC-only custom station. Put your audio files in the User Music folder under Documents, Rockstar Games, GTA V, then scan them from the game’s audio settings. The station even has in-game DJs, Cliff Lane and Andee, between your songs. There is no equivalent on consoles.
How to change station
Hold the radio button to bring up the station wheel, then pick a station or switch the radio off. The game slows down while the wheel is open. On PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 you can also swipe up or down on the touchpad to change station. In GTA Online, the Los Santos Tuners update added a Favorite Radio Stations option to the Interaction Menu: only the stations you tick stay on the wheel.
Radio facts worth knowing
- Each protagonist has favourites. In a closed vehicle, Franklin dances to Radio Los Santos, West Coast Classics, The Lab and blonded Los Santos. Michael dances to Los Santos Rock Radio, Vinewood Boulevard Radio, Radio Mirror Park, The Lowdown and Space 103.2. Trevor dances to Channel X, Los Santos Rock Radio and Rebel Radio. - Rebel Radio has a building. It stands in the Grand Senora Desert next to a broadcast tower, with speakers playing music outside.
- Radio stations are silent on Cayo Perico. The island in GTA Online has no radio.
- Cars pick stations by genre. Like GTA IV, GTA 5 groups stations into sets (hip-hop, rock, electronic and so on) that decide which one a vehicle is tuned to when you get in.

On September 17, 2026, Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, 34 original tracks with Atlantic Records released on November 19, and promised more details soon on “the next evolution of in-game radio”.
