GTA 6 Cover Art Reveal: Lucia, Jason and an Alligator

June 18, 2026

On June 18, 2026, Rockstar Games published Grand Theft Auto VI: Official Cover Art Reveal on its YouTube channel, unveiling the box art five months before launch and confirming that pre-orders would open the following week, on June 25.

The artwork follows the format the series has used since Grand Theft Auto III: a grid of illustrated panels rather than a single composed scene. Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval take the two largest panels, front and centre, which is the clearest visual statement Rockstar has made about the game having two equally weighted protagonists rather than one lead and one supporting character.

The surrounding panels bring in faces from the wider cast Rockstar has confirmed, including Raul Bautista and Boobie Ike. The centre panel is given to an alligator, an unsubtle nod to the game’s setting: Leonida is the series’ version of Florida, and the alligator is about as close to a state mascot as the real place has.

For a cover reveal, the video is short and does exactly one job. Its significance is less about the artwork than about what accompanied it. Rockstar used the same announcement to lock in the pre-order date of June 25 and to restate the November 19, 2026 release date on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, at a point when the game’s schedule had already moved more than once.
