GTA 5 Cheats: Every Code for PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC
GTA 5 has 34 cheat effects, all of them for Story Mode only. On PlayStation and Xbox you enter them as button sequences, on PC you type a word into the cheat console, and on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC you can also dial them as phone numbers. The button codes are the same on PS3, PS4 and PS5, and the same on Xbox 360, Xbox One and Series X|S. There is no money cheat.
Every code below appears identically in at least two references (GTA Wiki, IGN, PC Gamer, GamesRadar). Those lists disagree on a handful of entries, so we kept the version most of them share, and rebuilt every phone number from the keypad letters of its PC word, which is how every GTA 5 cheat number is formed.
Before you enter a cheat
Rockstar’s support page sets the rules:
- Achievements and trophies are switched off while cheats are active. It is temporary: reloading a save or restarting the console resets every cheat and the game returns to its previous state.
- Saving still works with cheats on, but the cheats themselves are not saved.
- Some cheats are refused at certain moments. The game then shows “Cheat Denied: Cannot activate that cheat right now.”
- Starting a mission switches off any cheat you activated outside it.
- Entering a code a second time usually, but not always, turns it off.
PC Gamer adds that a cheat used during a mission caps that mission’s rating at bronze, so keep a clean save for medal runs.
How to enter the codes on each platform
PlayStation and Xbox: enter the sequence during gameplay, quickly, using the D-pad for Left, Right and Down. A small confirmation appears on screen when the code is accepted.
PC: press the tilde key (~), or whichever key sits directly left of 1 on your keyboard, to open the cheat console. Type the word and press Enter.
Phone (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S, PC): press Up on the D-pad (Up arrow on PC) to take out the phone, open Contacts, press Square, X or Spacebar to bring up the keypad, dial the number and press the same button to call. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions have no phone cheats, so use the button codes there.

Invincibility is temporary: GTA Wiki measures it at five minutes before it wears off. Skyfall throws you high above the map, so give yourself a parachute first unless the landing is the point. The two wanted level codes move one star per use.
Weapon cheats
| Cheat | PlayStation | Xbox | PC / phone |
|---|---|---|---|

The weapons code hands out a full set including an RPG, grenades, an SMG and an assault rifle, and refills your ammo. Explosive and flaming bullets need a gun in your hands to work, while explosive melee only works with no weapon equipped. Slow-motion aiming stacks: each entry slows things further until a fourth one switches it off. If you would rather buy your arsenal, every Ammu-Nation on our 3D map of Los Santos is one click away.

| Kraken (submarine) | phone only | phone only | BUBBLES 1-999-282-2537 |
Vehicles need open ground to spawn, especially the Buzzard and the planes. The last three are special cases. The Dodo, the Duke O’Death and the Kraken have no button code on console: you dial them, or type the word on PC. Each one also has to be unlocked first, by completing the Sea Plane random event (Dodo), the Duel random event (Duke O’Death) and the Wildlife Photography Challenge (Kraken). Since the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions have no phone cheats, these three are out of reach there.
That list is complete. There is no code for a tank or a fighter jet; if you want a Lazer, the hangars at Fort Zancudo are where they live, and the base does not welcome visitors.
World cheats
| Cheat | PlayStation | Xbox | PC / phone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Change weather | R2, Cross, L1, L1, L2, L2, L2, Square | RT, A, LB, LB, LT, LT, LT, X | MAKEITRAIN 1-999-625-348-7246 |
| Slidey cars | Triangle, R1, R1, Left, R1, L1, R2, L1 | Y, RB, RB, Left, RB, LB, RT, LB | SNOWDAY 1-999-766-9329 |
| Slow motion | Triangle, Left, Right, Right, Square, R2, R1 | Y, Left, Right, Right, X, RT, RB | SLOWMO 1-999-756-966 |
| Moon gravity | Left, Left, L1, R1, L1, Right, Left, L1, Left | Left, Left, LB, RB, LB, Right, Left, LB, Left | FLOATER 1-999-356-2837 |
The weather code moves to the next weather type each time you enter it, so repeat it until you get the sky you want. Slow motion works like slow-motion aiming: three levels, then off on the fourth entry. Slidey cars only works while you are in a vehicle.
One more number: Director Mode
The phone also takes one number that is not a cheat as such: 1-999-5782-5368 drops you straight into Director Mode, the sandbox where you pick an actor, the time and the weather. Our GTA 5 phone cheats guide lists every number on its own, with how the keypad trick works.
What cheats cannot do
There is no cash code, and the GTA 5 money cheat guide explains where the real Story Mode fortune is. Cheats do not work in GTA Online either, where money comes from playing or from Shark Cards, and where glitches and mod menus are grounds for a ban.
Playing the older game? The GTA 4 cheats all go through Niko’s phone, and the numbers are completely different.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a money cheat in GTA 5?
No. No button code, console command or phone number gives you cash in GTA 5, in Story Mode or anywhere else. The real money in Story Mode comes from Lester's assassination missions played on the stock market, and from the heists.
Do cheats disable trophies and achievements in GTA 5?
Yes, but only temporarily. Rockstar says saving still works while cheats are active and achievements are switched off in the meantime. Reloading a save or restarting the console clears every cheat and puts the game back to normal.
Do GTA 5 cheats work in GTA Online?
No. Cheat codes only work in Story Mode. GTA Online has no cheats, and using mods or exploits there can get an account suspended or banned.
How do you enter cheats on GTA 5 PC?
Press the tilde key (~), the key directly left of 1, to open the cheat console, type the code and press Enter. You can also dial the same code as a phone number on the in-game phone.
How do you turn a GTA 5 cheat off?
Enter the same code again. Rockstar says that usually, but not always, disables it. Reloading a save always clears every active cheat.
