GTA 5 Phone Cheats: Every 1-999 Number, Checked
Every GTA 5 cheat can be dialled on the in-game phone: call 1-999 followed by the cheat’s PC word typed on a phone keypad. Invincibility is 1-999-724-654-5537 because 724-654-5537 spells PAINKILLER. Phone cheats work in Story Mode on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and they do exactly what the button codes do. The full list of 34 numbers, plus the Director Mode number, is below.
How to dial a cheat
- Take out the phone: Up on the D-pad, or the Up arrow on PC.
- Open Contacts.
- Bring up the keypad with Square (PlayStation), X (Xbox) or Spacebar (PC).
- Dial the number and press the same button again to call.
A confirmation appears on screen when the cheat is accepted. The phone does not remember cheats, so when one wears off or a reload clears it, you dial it again. That is a change from GTA 4, where a number dialled once was stored in a Cheats menu on Niko’s phone.
Why some lists get the numbers wrong
Each number is simply the PC word on a keypad: 2 for ABC, 3 for DEF, 4 for GHI, 5 for JKL, 6 for MNO, 7 for PQRS, 8 for TUV, 9 for WXYZ. Nothing else is involved, which makes every number checkable.
That matters, because typos have spread between big guides. Several major lists print Drunk Mode as 1-999-547-861, but LIQUOR spells 547-867, and the 1 at the end cannot come from any letter. Others drop a digit from TRASHED or get one wrong in CATCHME. Every number on this page was rebuilt from its word, then checked against published lists: each one appears digit for digit in at least two of them (GTA Wiki, TheGamer, PCGamesN). If a number fails in your game, spell it out again before assuming the cheat is broken.

Numbers you can only dial
On PlayStation and Xbox, four numbers have no button code at all, so the phone is the only way in:
- Dodo seaplane, 1-999-398-4628 (EXTINCT). Unlocked by completing the Sea Plane random event.
- Duke O’Death, 1-999-3328-4227 (DEATHCAR). The armoured muscle car, unlocked by completing the Duel random event.
- Kraken submarine, 1-999-282-2537 (BUBBLES). Unlocked by completing the Wildlife Photography Challenge. It spawns on land as well as in water.
- Director Mode, 1-999-5782-5368. Not a cheat in the strict sense: it launches Director Mode directly, the same as calling the Acting Up contact already in the phone. It will not work while you are wanted, in a vehicle, in a mission or swimming.
On PC, the first three also work as console words (EXTINCT, DEATHCAR, BUBBLES).
One more number circulates in every major list: 1-999-367-3767. Most call it the “Black Cellphone” cheat, IGN calls it “Random Explosion”, and the descriptions of what it does range from a black phone to an explosion near the player. With the sources split on its effect, we have left it out of the tables rather than guess.
Numbers worth dialling together
Cheats stack, and a few pairs are better than either number alone:
- Parachute, then Skyfall. Dial 1-999-759-3483 first, then 1-999-759-3255, and the drop from the sky ends under a canopy instead of in a crater.
- Super Jump and Moon Gravity. 1-999-467-8648 with 1-999-356-2837 turns every jump into a long, slow arc.
- Invincibility before explosives. 1-999-724-654-5537 before Explosive Bullets or Explosive Melee keeps your own blasts from finishing you off, for as long as the invincibility lasts.
The same rules as button cheats
A phone number is just another way of entering the same cheat, so Rockstar’s rules apply unchanged. Cheats only work in Story Mode, never in GTA Online. Achievements and trophies are switched off while any cheat is active, until you reload a save or restart. Some cheats are refused at certain moments, and starting a mission switches off the cheats you activated outside it. Dialling the same number twice usually cancels the effect.

What no number does

No. Phone cheats arrived with the PS4, Xbox One and PC version and carried over to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. On PS3 and Xbox 360 you have to use the button codes.
What is the GTA 5 invincibility phone number?
1-999-724-654-5537, which spells 1-999-PAINKILLER on the keypad. Like the button code, it only lasts a few minutes before you need to dial it again.
Do phone cheats disable trophies and achievements?
Yes, exactly like the button codes. Achievements are switched off while cheats are active, and reloading a save or restarting the game clears the cheats and restores them.
