GTA 6 in October: Launch Trailer, Ratings and Pre-Orders

By ALLGTA World Staff · October 22, 2026

October was the month Grand Theft Auto VI stopped being a promise and became a product with a box, a rating and a launch trailer. Here is everything that happened between October 1 and October 22, in order, with what Rockstar confirmed kept apart from what others reported. Each line links to our full article.

What Rockstar confirmed

  • October 1: Halloween in GTA Online. GTA Online’s Halloween event runs until November 4, with triple pay on Survivals and the Slasher series and GTA$2 million for completing every weekly challenge. Our event guide.
  • October 8: six radio stations, and podcasts. Rockstar named six of the game’s stations, added the series’ first on-demand podcasts and confirmed that radio follows you on foot through the characters’ phones and headphones. The same day it opened a GTA VI collection on the Rockstar Store and gave GTA+ members a free Pegassi Oppressor. The radio reveal, the GTA+ month.
  • October 15: the Launch Trailer. A 1:29 trailer, captured in-game on PlayStation 5, built around Jason and Lucia and set to “Flower in a Hurricane”, a new track by Justice, the game’s score composers, with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It restates November 19. What it shows, watch it.

Ratings and launch logistics

The ratings arrived at the start of the month: ESRB M for Mature 17+, PEGI 18 in Europe, and R18+ on Australian store listings (details). Rockstar’s support pages and the console stores now cover launch week too: digital and physical owners can pre-load from November 12 at local midnight, and store listings point to a midnight unlock in each region on November 19. Rockstar itself has not published an unlock time or a download size. Everything official, and everything still missing, is in our launch day guide.

What others reported

  • October 7: no Xbox Cloud stream. After The Verge reported a streaming exclusivity for Xbox, Microsoft’s Matthew Ball denied it: no exclusive streaming deal and no streaming to PC through Xbox Cloud Gaming. The Verge corrected its story.
  • October 13: PC in early 2027? GamesBeat reported, from four unnamed sources, that a PC version is planned for the first quarter of 2027. Rockstar has not commented; the official platforms are still PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Both stories.
  • October 14: Bloomberg’s making-of. Rockstar’s leaders gave Jason Schreier unusual access: two delays, a headcount that went from 2,441 in 2018 to 4,711 across 12 offices, a denial that the game cost more than 1.5 billion dollars, and a promise that the next Rockstar game will not take eight years. The key points.
  • October 14: a leaker’s ultimatum ends without a build. The person behind the “Cyberleek” threats stepped back without publishing anything. We do not link to or host leaked material. What happened.
  • October 15 and 16: the union tribunal. Rockstar executives testified in Glasgow over the dismissal of 34 staff in October 2025. The hearing was extended, with closing arguments on November 17 and 18. The hearings.
  • October 20: 6.45 million pre-orders, per Sensor Tower. The analytics firm estimates 6.45 million digital pre-orders worth about 630 million dollars, three quarters of them on PlayStation 5. It is an estimate; Take-Two has published no figure. The numbers and their limits.
